This is the first beach we drove to. Poipu Beach is located on the southern part of the island. It also has somewhat rough waves, but there is a rock wall that breaks the waves. We ventured in without shoes as anyone would do at a beach, and quickly realized that the sand lasted about 2 feet into the water and abruptly turned into coral and lava rock. Matt received two cuts on his hand and a gash in his leg. I also received injury in the form of a piece of coral stuck into my foot. Yes it hurt and I limped for 2 days after. Outside of that, it was fun...even if it doesn't sound like it.
